These tutorials provide an introduction to the structure of the platform and its main functionalities. An on-line tutorial can be found in the SEMANCO integrated platform web-site or can be downloaded.

These videos introduce the main functionalities with regard to:

1. Visualizing data in an urban energy model

We start by explaining how to explore the information contained in an Urban Energy Model using the different visualization modes: indicators, 3D model, buildings and cluster. Therefore this tutorial assumes an Urban Energy Model has been created in the SEMANCO platform and a baseline of the current energy performance of the buildings in the model has been calculated.  So in this tutorial the model includes energy related data calculated with the tools provided by the platform.

2. Creating an urban energy model

We now explain how to create an Urban Energy Model in the SEMANCO platform. The creation of the model relies on the integration of the available data with the data produced by the energy assessment and simulation tools in the platform. The integration of data and tools needs to be carried out by the platform developers. The tutorial shows how to define the components of an urban energy model: data, tools and users.

3. Defining a baseline of the urban energy model

Once we have created the urban energy model, it is possible to create baselines using the tools and data included in the model. A baseline reflects the current situation of the energy performance of the buildings in the area. It can be recalculated by changing the parameters of the tools used. Three different tools can be used depending on your requirements: USiT, SAPMAP and UEP/UIP. The tutorial shows how to create a baseline with each one of these tools.

4. Creating plans to improve a baseline

Once a baseline has been calculated plans can be defined to improve the existing situation. This tutorial shows how to define a plan and include/ remove buildings in a plan.

5. Creating projects within a plan

Within a given plan, it is possible to create multiple projects each one proposing different improvement measures to achieve the objectives of the plan. The improvements are calculated using the tools linked to the urban energy model. These tools are the same as those used to calculate the baseline. This tutorial shows how to create projects by calculating the improvements with the three available tools: USiT, SAPMAP and UEP/UIP.

6. Evaluating plans and projects

This tutorial illustrates the functionality of the multicriteria tool to assess plans and projects. The tool allows for multiple quantitative and qualitative criteria to be considered.
